Naina devi temple/Tibetan market :


Situated on the edge of naini lake at mallital is the Naina Devi temple a symbol of faith & belief among locals . On the back side of this temple it’s the famous Tibetan market.You can take a cycle riksha from mall road with a very nominal cost @ 10 -20 one way & visit Mallital &
Naina devi temple. 

Boating : 
It's a fun time and enjoy corners of Nainital Lake. You can hire a paddle boat @ 150 - 250 for 1 hour or go for guided Lake tour. Boating is the most sort after activity for all visitors , rowing as well as paddle boats are available from various points around Naini lake, charges are fixed & at display.

Lively Mall Road :


One & a half kms long mall is full of life in the cool evenings of summer season & Sunny afternoons in the winter .The Mall houses lot of restaurants with different cusines, video game, pool & snooker parlours, shops full of local gift items & more.

High Altitude Zoo : 


Little walking required for viewing Nainital Zoo. Nainital Zoo is not very big but confusing. Around one Km. away from bus stand at an altitude of 2100 meters in sprawling open area there is Govind Ballabh Pant High Altitude Zoo .It houses high altitude animals in natural surroundings . The zoo remains closed for visitors on Monday & all national holidays. For convenience It is advisable to take zoo shuttle service available from various points in the mall.

Raj Bhawan : 


Raj Bhavan was built by British as residence of Governor of North West Province. Now Raj Bhavan is the official accommodation of Governor (Uttaranchal). State guests coming to Nainital also use it for their stay. It consists of a marvelous garden, Golf Links, Swimming Pool. Jhandidhar Modi Heights, Munshi heights are the other places in the complex worth seeing .The Governor’s House was built in the line of Buckingham Palace having double storied 113 rooms.

Caves Garden :


As the name suggests it has a string of natural interconnecting caves now developed for tourism. It is located in Sukha Tal around one Km from Mallital.

Hanuman Garhi Temple:


It is around 2.5 Kms away from the bus stop at an altitude of 1951 Mts. Hanuman Garhi is a religious centre and famous for its sun set view. One can go to Hanuman Garhi by taxi, bus or even on foot from Nainital. It has a temple complex presiding deity being Lord Hanuman besides Ram and Shiva.

Cable Car/Snow View :


One can feel beauty of Nainital & Nainital lake from cable car. Amazing view of Snow view as the name suggests offers an indescribably beautiful and breath taking picture of the glittering snows of. The spot is accessible through ropeway. This ropeway connects Snow-View Point (at 2270 Mts.) with Nainital near flats. Prior booking is required for ropeway .This peak is also connected by motor able road.

Horse Riding :


Some adventure & fun, Horse riding is another attraction for tourists in Nainital. Horses can be hired at Barapatthar @ 150 to 300 as per ride to Nainital attractions like tiffin top, lands end etc and can be used as their transport mode to visit the different peaks of Nainital.

By Trekking or Horse

Cheena Peak:


Naina peak is the highest peak of the town , at an altitude of 2611 mts. and at a distance of 6 Kms from the town .It commands an entrancing view of sparkling snow laden Himalayas from Bandar Punch in west to Api and Nari peaks of Nepal in the east , a full Himalayan range in one side and a birds eye view of the lake city of Nainital in its full grandeur on the other. With a pair of binoculars a good panorama of the tract surrounding Nainital is obtained . Pony or Horses can be hired to visit this peak either from Snow view or from Mallital.

Dorothy Seat & Tiffin Top : 


Located at a distance of 4 Kms from the town this peak is 2292 mts. above the sea level in Ayarpatta region. The road to this picnic spot crawls along the rugged hill side swaying this way & that, and than all in one breadth in hushed silence suddenly unfolds a canvas on which nature has painted this beautiful spot. Tiffin Top commands an excellent view of the Himalayas as well as the neighboring country side. Dorothy seat a memorial to an English lady painter Dorothy Kellet build by her husband an admirers after her death.Tiffin Top & Lands end can be covered at a stretch as both spots are side by side.

LANDs END : 


There is nothings but Lands end - If you in mood of trekking or hiring a horse in Nainital or if like to see some good hilly roads in Nainital so must go to that place. Its altitude is 2118 mts. & it is located at about 4 Kms from the town. The best feature of this spot is that one does not have to climb much and as the name suggests one feels on reaching the area that the end of the land has really come. Needless to say the view of the neighboring hills and valley and the Khurpatal lake is exquisite from this point. One can go to Barapathar on a vehicle and then take a horse/trek about one Km. up to the spot.

Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences(ARIES) : Situated on Manora peak by road it is about 9 Kms from Nainital . It is a centre of astronomical studies and optical tracking of artificial satellites. For night viewing of stars and planets some days are fixed on moon lit nights and permission is necessary. 

Kilbury : 


if you love to see different different birds then you must visit Kilbury. Kilbury is little far from Nainital city but   - it worth visit if you like calm & cool roads. watchers paradise At an altitude of 2194 mts. and 12 Kms. from the town this place is accessible by a motor able road. It is an bird watchers paradise .It is famous for its flora and fauna and bird watching. One can have a wide panoramic view of Himalayas along with a view of Tarai. Kilbury is a well known birding route and at last count more than 580 species of birds have been recorded in this area.
Tourist Places Around Nainital
Tea Gardens & Ghorakhal temple : 13 kms from Nainita Tea gardens at shyamkhet are famous for its organic uttranchal tea exported worldwide. It is a beautiful serene place to visit a box of uttranchal tea is a must buy .Ghorakhal temple famous for the temple of Lord Golu worshipped by hill people.

Sat Tal : At a distance of about 23 Kms. from Nainital at an altitude of 1370 mts. Sattal is a unique, unforgettable spot having cluster of lakes placed amidst the oak forest. It is comparable with Westmoreland of England.

Bhimtal : It is about 22 Kms. from Nainital at an altitude of 1370 mts. larger than Naini lake The pride of Bhimtal is the beautiful lake which offers magnificent vistas for tourist it has an island amid lake which houses a beautiful aquarium .. .There is a 17th century Bhimeshwar temple complex along the 40 feet high dam built by British.

Naukuchia Tal : It is 26 Kms from Nainital and 4 Kms from Bhimtal at 1220 mts above sea level.A pretty deep clean lake with its nine corner is a captivating site.Length of lake is 983 mts. ,breadth is 693 mts & depth 40.3 mts.It is within an enchanting valley offering an opportunity of angling and bird watching.There is ample scope for rowing ,paddling or yachting.

Kainchi Dham : On the Nainital - Almora Road , 17 Kms from Nainital is a modern pilgrim centre. This place has achieved recognition owing to the ashram of the famous Neem Karoli Maharaj.

Mukteshwar : This beautiful place is 2286 mts in altitude and 51 Kms. from Nainital. Surrounded by fruit orchards and thick coniferous forest it was developed by the Britishers as research and education institute (IVRI) in 1893. It is the celebrated scenic spot overlooking long ranges of Himalaya.An old temple of Lord Shiva exist on the top of a rock.

Ranikhet : 60 kms from Nainital A hill station, idyllic in its charm, Ranikhet with its majestic pine trees, is 60 Kms. from Nainital.. Weaving an instant spell on the visitor Ranikhet draws visitors all the year round. Ranikhet is the headquarter of Kumaoun Regimental Centre.

Jageshwar : 100 Kms. from Nainital Counted among the 12 Jyotirlings in the country, Jageshwar lies in a beautiful narrow valley hedged by monarch-sized, ancient deodars.

Corbett National Park: 2 hours dive from Nainital 
Corbett Park : It is 70 kms for Nainital The Jim Corbett National Park is a heaven for the adventure seeker and wildlife adventure lovers. Corbett National Park is India's first national park which comprises 520.8 km2. area of hills, riverine belts, marshy depressions & grass lands.
Dedicated to the cause of wildlife conservation and named after the legendary hunter and slayer of "The Man-eaters of Kumaon", Corbett National Park is situated just 90 km from the Villa. Corbett is the oldest reserve in South East.
Tiger, definitely, is one of the major attractions besides plethora of other faunal attractions such as wild elephants, crocodilians (Mugger & Gharial), otters, Mahasheer & Goonch, the finest fighting game fish and one of the biggest catfish, respectively, four species of deer, Jackal, Sloth bear, leopard, three species of lesser cats, wild boars, civets, marten, mongoose, Nilgai and Goral, 250 species of birds and multitude of flora.

Kausani : 4 - 5 Hours’ drive from Nainital
Kausani is a picturesque hill station famous for its scenic splendor and its spectacular 300 km wide view of the Himalayas.

·         5013 Ranikhet Express departs daily from Old Delhi Railway Station at 2230 hrs and reaches Kathgodam (the railhead for Nainital) at 0600 hrs. Nainital is 30 kms. uphill from Kathgodam - taxis are avilable at the station and take about an hour along beautiful, forsted roads.
·         5035 Sampark Kranti Express departs daily from Old Delhi Railway Station at 1600 hrs and reaches Kathgodam at 2240 hrs.
·         14012 Anand Vihar-Kathgodam AC Express.
From Kolkata :
·         3019 Bagh Express departs daily from Howrah Station at 2145 hrs and reaches Kathgodam at 0930 hrs.
From Dehradun :
·         4120 Dehradun Kathgodam Express departs daily from Dehradun at 2230 hrs reaches Haridwar at 2355 hrs and reaches Kathgodam at 0715 hrs.

Road Map/Route from Delhi :
Delhi ---> Moradabad via Hapur and Gajraula
Take right for Moradabad Bypass --->After crossing the Bypass, take LEFT U-turn for Kashipur (You dont have to go via Kashipur) ---> and after 1-2 kms the road will take compulsory right turn. ---> Follow the road for about 6 - 8 kms till you see a board indicating RIGHT for Bajpur. ---> Take Right Turn for Bajpur and then onto Kaladungi ---> In Kaladungi, you will see a left turn (just after the Indian Oil Petrol Pump which will come on your right), take that. Start Climbing up and you will hit Nainital from the back side. This is the best route and the shortest from Delhi...Only 290 kms :-)
